Vincent is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (psychotherapist) in the Farmington/West Hartford, CT area. He provides therapy, counseling, and consulting services. Vincent works with adults only, no teens or children.
Areas of focus:
Vincent’s areas of expertise:
Issues specific to men: being a man in today’s world, men’s role in the family, new to being a dad, outdated gender roles, and more.
Relationships, social issues, trouble communicating, conflict, and more.
The many, many issues related to Anxiety - avoidance, stress, fear, sleep issues, panic, perfectionism, control, self-esteem, procrastination, and more.
Major life changes such as divorce, breakups, death, big move, job change/loss. Feeling stuck.
Many issues we have today are rooted in anxiety - probably more than most of us realize. Unchecked anxiety is the cause of several mental health issues and personality disorders, and I believe anxiety is the root of depression. Learning to deal with anxiety in healthy ways can solve a lot of our problems.
Why Relationships?
Relationships are really important, and you have one with anyone you interact with. This can be a spouse, partner, friend, family, colleague, boss, etc… We have many different kinds of relationships in our lives. They all play a role in how we feel.
What is “Men’s Issues”?
Men's issues includes being a single man navigating the dating world, relationship problems, new to fatherhood, parenting as a dad, dealing with relationship conflicts, struggles with masculinity, machismo, and the pressure of traditional ideals regarding men's roles in the family (see the “about” section).
Why should you choose a local therapist instead of a nationwide internet based “therapy” service?
There are a lot of “convenient” discount therapy services out there that try to lure you in by making everything seem easy, but you may be getting an unlicensed counselor instead of a licensed clinician. Convenience and discount prices are attractive, but do you really want discount therapy? Those “therapists” are not being paid well and may not be experts on your issues.
What to Expect
You can e-mail anytime to find out if there is a spot that works for you, just click the e-mail button at the top or bottom of this page. Vincent is also able to provide consulting services to anyone out of state, at a cash rate, utilizing virtual meetings. In the near future Vincent will offer trainings for a fee for organizations providing clinical mental health or social services.
I don’t have a “waitlist” because people don’t usually wait around for you to free up a spot. I manage my schedule myself, so I’m not able to keep track of all that. If I don’t have openings I can refer you to a colleague.
Custom Therapy for You
Therapy is custom tailored for you, including the cost (see Insurance & Payment). The length and frequency of treatment is something we will discuss together. I know therapy can be expensive depending on your insurance situation, so we will come up with a schedule and payment plan that works best for you.
Some services I provide are not covered by insurance and are cash-only such as career counseling, parenting education, behavior planning for kids, any other informal counseling or consulting.
Please see ‘about’, ‘payment’, and ‘policies’ pages to learn more about how treatment might proceed, what types of therapy Vincent provides, insurance and payment methods and whether he’s the right therapist for you.

It can take a long time to feel comfortable contacting a therapist. Take your time and think about what you’d like to work on in therapy. Talk to friends who have been to therapy, if you find that helpful. You can e-mail me if you have any questions but aren’t sure if therapy is right for you at this time.
